TV channel FOUR has apologised for its posters of America’s Next Top Model contestant Isis King, which feature the statement “The Boy Is Back”.

Mediaworks senior publicist Polly Viccars issued the following statement from FOUR:

“FOUR understands that this campaign has caused offence and apologises for this. As stated on Twitter, we have started the process of removing the posters and expect them to be down by the end of the week.

“It is clear that in this instance we made a mistake with the messaging about Isis – at no point did we intend to offend. We take this feedback very seriously and undoubtedly it will inform our future decision making.

“We appreciate the feedback we received and apologise again for any offence caused.”
