Prepare yourselves for hits bigger than “Poker Face” and moves slicker than Will Schuester’s hair, as two fun roller derby teams are created for one night only to raise funds for GLBT youth organisation Q-Topia.

Organised by Christchurch’s Otautahi Roller Derby League (ORDL), Rainbow Spite will see two teams vie for the right to be the ultimate GLBT icon – come along as Team Gaga faces off against Team Glee.  

Q-topia administrator Anne Nicholson says, “Q-topia is Christchurch’s only queer youth support group. Q-topia provides queer and transgender young people with a safe and enjoyable space to safely explore issues and make friends. The not for profit trust offers two types of social support group (Q-topia and Forge) that affirm and appreciate the diverse qualities of participants.”

Team Gaga and Team Glee will be made up of ORDL, as well as special guests visiting from Wellington and Melbourne.
 
Come down to Pioneer Stadium on 25 February 2012 at 8pm to catch all the action when these two teams battle it out. They’ll be taking the track not only for a great cause, but also for the glory of being the best GLBT icon.
