The Rock FM is dealing with a prank that backfired after a lesbian couple hijacked the station’s “Valentine’s Day Divorce” competition.

The Rock FM’s drive show hosts Robert Taylor and Jono Pryor’s competition offered one ‘lucky’ listener the chance to have their divorce costs paid, so long as they broke the news on air.

Robert said, “We thought we’d instead offer the opportunity to lose your lover by taking part in a world first. Despite the public outcry and threats to sue… an alternative, if you like, to the flowers and chocolates.”

That lucky caller was a woman called Sam, who said she had been thinking of getting a divorce for a while.

“I’ve been married to Andy for four years and lately things have not been good,” she said. “I’ve met someone else online… for me that sums it up that it’s over. When I heard the competition, I thought, ‘Why not get it for free?’

But when the station called her husband “Andy”, a woman answered the phone.

The woman, Sam’s wife Amber, said, “This isn’t Andy’s number. You’ve got the right number. Not it’s not Andy and it’s never going to be Andy you f**king idiots. This is Amber; Sam’s partner. So how does it feel, being on the other end of something?

“We sabotaged you, you dickheads.”

The couple say they were disgusted by the competition and decided to sabotage it so no one else would be made to feel that way.

Sam said, “I can’t believe you were going to let me do this. I am appalled. I gave you chances to let you not go ahead with this. I am bloody disgusted. I made sure it was me who would do this and I wanted to be live on air.”

When asked if she is married to Sam, Amber said, “Yes I am married to Sam; she’s my wife. It’s a civil f**king union and you guys are dickheads for trying to do something to sabotage people’s relationships.”

Of the prank, Jono Pryor said, “I feel like I’m in an episode of Scooby Doo and we’re finally figuring out how you caught us out and we would have got away with it if it wasn’t for you dastardly lesbians.”

Robert mentioned that the station “got slagged more than we got support for this”, and Sam agreed, stating that anyone who doesn’t like the way she and Amber went about things are “not very intelligent” and have “no morals or ethics”.

“I hope you think twice next time you try and mess around with people,” Sam said. “And don’t call me again.”
