Welcoming the new year is near. Express has put together the hottest places to be this NYE. 

Whether you’er the clubber that likes to mince the circuit or a naturalist that prefers beach babes and bonfires there’s many great and wonderful things happening around the country.

So there’s little excuse to find yourself home alone on the last night of the year we have done the leg work so you don’t have to.


URETITI13 Uretiti

Camping, beach babes and daddy bears, This DOC campsite heats up from the 28th as gay Northland and half of gay Auckland converge on the east coast of the north island. This campsite fills up really quickly and is likely to be at capacity early this year. You can expect LYC chill out zone, Bruce the bus, lots of sun, unofficial beach bonfire to ring in the new year and the “library” (ask your nearest gay for the 411 on that one)


Family Family bar

Family Bar turns in to a magical wonderland this NYE! Think mad hatters tea party over run by rainbows and glitter.

This party is like no other seen at Family bar, we hear they have put on some amazing NYE’s in the past and if you have been before your expectations will be blown away! Party Kicks off early with Drag shows and entertainment all night long. $10.00 on the door.


lEGEND Legend Bar and Club

Open from 10pm with free entry you get access to one of the best views of Auckland city’s firework displays! with spunky GOGO Boys and drink specials.

Word on the street is there are summer cocktails made specially for this night! make sure you head on down! say Express sent you!



POOF POOF on Ponsonby

Kicking off at 7pm the beautiful boys and girls at poof have a popping NYE party for you.

Buck Wheat will have you thoroughly entertained all night long and will ring in the new year with more bang and kapow than you can handle




The best little Bear Bar in Auckland has two leading Auckland DJ’s, DJ Donald Bennett and James Leuii will be spinning sexy beats to welcome in the new year.

Scotty S&M – Wellington

We have heard some pretty special stories of NYE at this little bar from years passed and I’m sure their reputation will proceed them this year. Rocky Horror is the theme,  DJ Simon will be spinning the decks, with drink specials and spot prizes all night! See out the end of year in style with Scotty and Mal and their gracious bar hosts. No cover charge.



IVY Ivy Bar

The day before next year at Ivy. with three rave zones and massive DJ’s this is the place to be.

For those in the heart of Wellington that like deep heavy beats with sexy wait staff don’t forget about Ivy! no cover charge before ten.



South Island

Autumn-Farm Autumn Farm

Strategically located in the Takaka valley this mens resort is located close to the Kahurangi and Abel Tasman national park.
