The January issue of express is published this year without the Pride Guide being included. Kunal Sharma of express says, “we were contracted with Pride to include their tabloid newsprint guide in our January issue which we have done for the last three years, either by inserting it or actually publishing it, and were looking forward to doing so again. A mid-January publication for the guide was on their rate card too”.
Pride Board member Richard James claims “there is no delay with the Auckland Pride Guide […] we work hard to get the printed programme out as soon as possible, but it’s always a struggle to pull event information and images out of promoters and community groups prior to Christmas. The Guide only goes to print when it is comprehensive and complete. Because of these practical realities, we now endeavour to get the events live on the Auckland Pride website in advance of the printed programme.”
A spokesperson for the Guide’s printers, PMP, could give no confirmed date of publication as at 12 January.
