A man has allegedly thrown an acid-like substance at six LGBT+ activists in Moscow.

As the activists were leaving the Fourth LGBTIQ+ Family Conference, organised by LGBTI+ group, Resource, they were attacked by the man and Police and ambulance were called to the scene.

The substance used is unclear but originally believed to be a type of acid, reports Gay Star News.

Russian LGBT Network activist Zoya Matisova was among the injured.

The Director of the Network Mikhail Tumasov told Gay Star News that incidents like these happen very often.

“I believe there was a person – a spy – who pretended to be an LGBTI person to get the correct information about the event which was hidden from the public.”
